Tourism in North-West England

Fencing in a tournament can too often mean that the only thing you see is the inside of a gym. Why not spend some time in the area and see what Bury, Manchester and its environs have to offer.

Whether you are interested in Manchester's industrial past, some of its historical houses, want to dance the night away, or get away from it all then the North West of England has lots to see.

Bolton is an essential part of the Manchester experience which is well known for its iconic theatre, live music and major events. A great mix of town and country, just 30 minutes from the city centre and ideal for exploring England's North West.

One of Bolton's most famous sons, Fred Dibnah has a heritage centre that is worth a visit

The Visit Manchester and Visit England’s North West web sites give a whole series of things to do in the local area.

You might also want to look at the National Trust for stately homes, country parks and other places worth visiting.
